Managing complexity of adaptation with agility, scalability and speed

Our integrated, semi-automated artwork solutions handle volumes of work with the greatest attention to detail—allowing for consistent creative adaptation without friction.

We solve adaptation and artwork production problems, providing scalable solutions that ensure quality and shorten time-to-market. We also create core artwork that efficiently adapts to other forms, with low-to-no-touch involvement from the client.

Our workflow process allows us to more effectively manage approvals and digitally deliver assets and artwork to multiple suppliers or regions. This means less administrative and routine involvement, and more time and resources for product growth.

Microsoft
Office

Case Study

It doesn’t get much bigger than a Microsoft Office product launch –

5,000 packaging assets, limited timeframes and exceptionally high-quality requirements.

When we began working with Microsoft, the world of consumer electronics and software had been through a dramatic shift, with huge global releases across markets and languages creating unprecedented demand on brand owners. This put immense pressure on packaging artwork processes (as well as those for marketing assets).

2016

Asset production was a largely non-standardized and disconnected process, resulting in a large number of packaging SKUs with only minor differences in artwork and copy – but which nonetheless made localization and cataloguing inefficient down the line. Each adaptation and localization action had to be carried out separately and manually, milestone by milestone. This resulted in late delivery and quality errors – with 86% on-time delivery and 5% error rate.

Learning from the project, we undertook in-depth analysis of upstream processes and downstream output needs. We identified the patterns and similarities in what was being requested across the business and across territories. This knowledge enabled us to begin centralizing and merging processes, add system automation for repetitive tasks and refocus people in the teams on the more complex tasks.

2018

It was time to put our process improvements to the test. We advised the creation of templates for the SKUs, which enabled standardisation where appropriate, without sacrificing the creative or content, and we introduced automation into the artworking workflows. We worked with supply chain teams to create a new on-demand model that meant new artwork would only be created when genuinely required. We delivered to the same 12 week time frame – increasing on-time delivery to 100% and reducing quality errors to 0%, all with fewer people and a 20% improvement in cost-efficiency.
